fleetside tailgate bow
I have a 67 fleetside tailgate with a bow from side to side. Is there a way to straighten it without special tools?

Re: fleetside tailgate bow
I put one in a press I made one time. got it straight but, took a lot of work to get it to look like I wanted it to. imo, look for a good used one that way you can spend your time on other parts of your truck! trust me, its a lot of work! best of luck ..Pat

Thanks Pat! That's pretty much what I thought.

Re: fleetside tailgate bow
I fixed it by putting a strip of 3/4" plywood under each side and loaded it up with cinder blocks. It took about a month for the bow to go away, but it worked.

Re: fleetside tailgate bow
Thanks. I thought about that using sandbags. I guess any weight would work.

Re: fleetside tailgate bow
Anything with weight should work, you just need to leave it on the gate long enough or the bow will come right back as soon as the weight is removed.
