Exhaust shop recommendations in Minneapolis metro??
Can anyone recommend an exhaust shop in the metro? The closer to Minnetonka the better.
I am planning on replacing my ~20 yr old dual exhaust from the headers back and need some reasonable quotes. Im thinking 2.5" pipe with whatever cheapo turbo mufflers i can find and side exits in the stock location. (pretty standard) I thought about the Thrush kit from Jegs, but if I can find a shop to do it in town here for the same or a little more I will go in that direction. Thanks 1971 C-20 350/350 |

well, I know it's a ways from Minnetonka, but Joe the wonderful muffler man in Roseville
on Rice st. is a great shop, does lots of custom work, reasonable prices, should be able to give you a phone quote for your truck. good luck whatever you do. |

I WOULD NOT bring it to wonderful muffer man. Yes they do have cheap prices but the old saying kicks in (you get what you pay for). My family has had a few jobs done there and just to give you an idea of what they do there is weld a 3" collecter (3" pipe) to a 2 1/2 pipe without an adapter or size the pipe to match. They just fill the gap differance with weld.

Re: Exhaust shop recommendations in Minneapolis metro??
Ended up spending about $50 at napa for various clamps, reducers, gaskets, muffler dope, etc to get the old system at least leak proof...turns out the old mufflers dont sound too bad, but the end is near...perhaps next spring.
Thanks for the input guys! |

If you go out west on hwy 12 to Montrose Jeffex right along 12 is supposed to be good. The Hearthrob manufacturing plant is in Litchfield. That's aways away, but they do installs too. I'd expect them to be first rate.

Re: Exhaust shop recommendations in Minneapolis metro??
i got my dual kit from LMCTruck worked great - they even sent me a piece to go around my rockwell transfer case free of charge! - it came from minnesota, but i cant remember where, all mandrel bent tubing. i suppose it depends on weather you want it welded or not - i like things to come apart easily it came with all clamps and hangers for about $250
i will try to figure out the dealer on the exhaust im pretty sure it was in the minneapolis area but i could be wrong

Re: Exhaust shop recommendations in Minneapolis metro??
They will do will-call at the shop if you're up for a drive and want to do it yourself. That's my plan this summer.
