3-point seat belts
May be a stupid question, but has anyone installed a 3-point seat belt in their trucks? I bought one off of C.L. for a good price, but want to know if anyone else has done this and how they did the wall anchor if they did. Going to be hauling the kids and just wanted to know if it could be done easily without tearing up in-cab appearance.
Thanks, '70GMCStep '65 Chevy C-10 '70 GMC Stepside |

I bought their 3 point shoulder harness for a bench seat. It was a bit of a pain to put in, but it is solid. It comes with plates that the bolts run into. The thinking is that the entire plate will not pull through in an accident. They have a pretty good how to section on their website as well, so you can see what you are getting into. LilRed66 has some pictures of the original type factory two piece three point shoulder deal that they had as an option back in the day. This picture shows the plates for the bolts on my truck: This is another company that I have read about guys with our trucks... using their belts: http://www.gemstreetrods.com Good luck, -W |

Re: 3-point seat belts
My truck has the threaded holes already just like the drawing Lilred posted shows.
My plan is to bolt in a set of bench seat factory 3pt belts and retractors out of an early '90's full size Chevy truck into the original holes. (and use plates if I have to drill new holes.) Got the belts last week, but haven't done a test fit yet. |
