Plug Differences???

I was looking for some plugs and AC Delco has a few that will fit my application. My question is is that what is the difference between an R42TS, an R43TS, an 43TS, and 42TS? I have no clue so I would really apreciate any info. Thanks

The "R" means it is a resister type plug. Th absence of an "R" means it is not a resistor type plug.

The numbers "42" and "43" are the heat range numbers, as the number gets higher the hotter the plug runs. You usually buy the heat range to suit the type of driving you do or to help the engine fire cleaner.

An example would be if you do all highway driving, you would probably choose a colder plug. Stop and start driving,(short trips) would probably require a hotter plug to minimize fouling.

"T" means the plug has a taper for sealing to the head instead of a gasket. "S" denotes the stickout of the electrodes.
