Frustration with grease
Is there any way to stop an HO52 rear end from leaking through the pinion?
I got new seals for it (they weren't cheap either) and it still dribbles fluid if the pinion is pointed downward. Is this normal? Does this not actually seal and the goo just stays in because the pinion doesn't normally point downwards?

Re: Frustration with grease
not sure if this applies to your differential....
but i had a similar things happen to my 12 bolt, i had some type of lube slung all over my new exhaust. it ended up being old grease and crud on the washer under the pinion nut. enough of it to not allow the washer and yoke to make a good seal. i cleaned up the yoke surface, the washer and the nut. then i put a small bead of rtv on the surfaces and pinion shaft. it hasnt leaked since. |
