Hi everyone, I'm new to the site. I am restoring a 69 3/4 ton 4x4.it has a 4 speed (sm465). Dropped in my 454 with exhaust manifolds. Left manifold is blocking access to anchor clutch linkage to motor.Do i have to use headers and if so what would be best?Any help would be greatly appreiated.

Re: Big block exhaust???
I've never done this swap but realize that there are exactly ZERO factory 67-72 pieces that fit this application. The General never made a big block 4x4 until after 72. You may be able to find later 70s square body manifolds that work but I think most guys run headers when they do this swap or they have to "trim" the frame around the exhaust manifold.

Re: Big block exhaust???
Do yourself a favor and buy good set of headers. I have a 454 in my 71 4x4, and its a dream to work on with headers. Had manifolds on my 70, and it sucked!

Thanks guys. I'll be ordering headers tonight. I hope clutch linkage clears.
