Re: Motor mount help
Welcome to the board ratfink13, go ahead read over the forum rules and drop the owner of the board a small fee and become a member of the neatest classic truck forum around, after you have joined then venture over to the 67/72 parts board and place you a WTB thread and tell the guys what you need. V8 sbc or bbc or 6cly engine towers!
happy motoring!! Big O.

Re: Motor mount help
the best way to go then is to get sbc motor mount towers and mount them in the foward two mount hole locations on the frame.

Re: Motor mount help
when I install sb for hotrod or performance I use 6 cyl frame stands.swap them from side to side turned backwards in rear frame holes. sb motor mounts. autotrans cross member bolts into factory 6cyl with pwr glide holes and 6 cyl auto trans linkage "longer linkage rod" you can weld ext on sb rod. also uses 56 1/4" 6cyl drive shaft.motor will set back 7" from factory sb position.can also use hei distributor cap .it will clear firewall by 1/4" as long as your cab mounts are not worn out.truck will launch better and ride and handle much better than factory sb position.
