-factory bed shortened to 8' .....narrowed to 6'6"
-rebuilt entire subframe w/channel iron
-bed lowered on frame approx 3"
-diamond plate trim over oak

I spent a better part of the weekend planning out my bed. I hope to get started on it in the next few months with the intent of having it all done in time for the frame swap.

Another idea I have for my bed!
Polished stainless steel strips separated by black walnut stringers and stainless steel carriage bolts. You guys feel Ole' One Bad?

Not the best pic of it but thats a sheet of oak plywood with 6 coats of spar urethane (I think) and to cover the gap around the sides i trimmed the bed with 3/4X3" oak strips. Only cost me about $50.

here is my contribution. Red oak boards with some dark Walnut stain and 4 coats of medium build poly. Turned out pretty nice.
