window regulator removal help !!!!!

ok here the deal ...my driver side window is stuck in the up position ...thanks goodness its not the opposite ..or i would really need this info asap .....ok ... i already have a new regulator ...ive ordered all new seals and felts ...should be here in couple days .... ive read all the post concerning this job ..but i still dont feel comforate diving into it...i need to do it though ...this summers going to be hell without being able to roll down my window .....

im aware that some of the installation step require the window to be down ....should i just force it down and go from there or is there an easier ...i dont want to break something i need and have to wait a week for the parts to get here ...know what i mean ... this is my daily driver ...but i have all next week off work ...so now is the time to do it ....

id appreciate any info from guys that have done this ....im nervous about removing the vent window also ....

any tips suggestions would hopefully make this alot easier for me

You will need the window down to get the vent window out. I am not real sure about forcing the window down. You may break it.

Since your regulator is shot, I would look at cutting the arms off and cutting the shaft off so you can get the regulator out without having to roll the window down. A small die grinder should cut through the regulator so that you can piece it out.You would need some help or a way to keep the glass up once you have the regulator where it will not support the window. I have never had a door that the regulator would not roll the window down and I have removed dozens, so this is a new one.

Once you get the regulator out, you would be able to lower the window so as to remove the vent window and install your new regulator.

Hmmm?
Take off the door panel.
Remove every screw you can fine - including the screws that go into the "back"
of the door. Those are the ones that go into the same part of the door as the latch does.
Use a correct (big) sized phillips. Put a crescent wrench on the handle of the screwdriver and turn the screwdriver with that.
The window sits in a metal trough. Something is keeping that from lowering.
Once you have all the screws out, the only thing holding up that window is the crank mechanism which apparently won't turn, and the crank post that sticks throught the door..
It should move eventually if there is nothing holding it up.
When you stick your hands into the opening(s) you will find in the door, you might want to wear gloves. Doors you can get. Fingers you can't.
Remember that glass doesn't bend.
Re-read what JimKshortstep4x4 said. Sounds like he's been there done that.

Clean the glass real good & run a few 3' lengths of GOOD duct tape (not the grocery store junk) up the inside of the window, over the top of the door, & back down the outside.

You could also use a woodworking type clamp(like the "quick grip" clamps) you can find at Lowes etc.. Actually ANY clamp with rubber pads on the ends should hold the window up while you cut the arms. The duct tape would be a cheaper alternative but may have to get the sticky stuff off afterwards.
