If you're referring to the picture of the edelbrock carb and intake, I just threw that air cleaner on to keep dust/junk from falling into the carb while it was sitting in my garage which is also my workshop where I cut wood and tile, etc.
The carb is now in a covered container (loosely covered since I don't want any remanining fuel vapors building up).
