Has anyone polished their tailgate band?

Or if not, do you have any pics of one polished out? I mean to a chrome-like finish.

I've got to polish mine, I'm just wondering how far to take it while it's off. I know I can put the vertical lines back with 1500 or 1000 grit, but I'd like to see if it's worth the effort first.

Re: Has anyone polished their tailgate band?

I said vertical, meant horizontal.

That looks pretty good on a tailgate band.
