83 Gauge QUestion

Can you take the lense out and clean it and the gauges without taking the whole gauge setup out??

Take the bezel and other stuff off and get your lens off, you can then clean it and polish it. At this time just use a small paint brush or something to dust your gauges off and clean them. No real need to pop the gauges out, but you can I suppose if you wanted.

Hi Justin,

Yes, you can leave the gauge cluster mounted in the dash and just remove the clear plastic lens.

There are a number of polishes on the market for motorcycle helmets, newer vehicle headlights, and such that all do a good job of taking fine scratches out of the plastic lenses. Be extra careful cleaning the gauge faces though ... the needles are pretty fragile, and getting the gauges wet/damp will often smudge the numbers. It's best to use low pressure compressed air and maybe a soft dry cloth for any stubborn dust/dirt.
