renew old Dash
So I have been thinking about this for a while now, I had a friend do it. Looks great, now I want to hear what you guys think, Instead of buying a new $$$ dash from LMC.. fill in the blank, what if I just took my old cracked up dash, took it out of my truck, sanded down the cracks too make it more smooth, filled it in with great stuff (in can Foam insulation) https://www.chooserenewables.com/xca...-Stuff-500.jpg
sanded that down too make it pretty flat like. Took bondo, put a nice coat on where the great stuff could not do. Then took a type of mateirel <--- dunno how to spell. in my case pleather. Then wrapped the dash in black pleather... Sounds pretty good rite? Before I spend the money on this I calculated about $6 for the great stuff, bondo I got layin around, pleather will cost about $18.. So for about a day or too worth of time, and under $30 I would have a like new dash.... Thoughts??

Re: renew old Dash
I did the same thing, came out ok make sure you make the dash perfectly smooth as you will see imperfections through the pleather. Hard to wrap it without cutting it in the front corners.

Re: renew old Dash
Thank you for the input, do you have any pictures so I could get a better idea of what it will turn out like?

Re: renew old Dash
it was not to bad with cracks, i filled in the speaker holes and the cracks with 3m bondo. then the line-x guys put glue on befor the line-x. i paid $30 for the dash $15 gas to get the dash, $60 or $80 for the line-x . thanks
