I decided to just run the Rockets. It's a little bumpy at some speeds, but it just looks too dam cool... I'll post some pics of it with all four some day...

That truck in my avatar is my '62, circa 1981, when my it belonged to my brother...

No updates. I've just been driving it. It's been my daily driver lately. I have to deal with a couple of issues that I've been putting off. It has a 2-piece driveshaft and the carrier bearing is going bad. I'll be switching to a one piece driveshaft soon. Also, my turn signal switch is turning into powder...only works left. That's also on the 'to-do' list.

I did a couple things to the 'daily driver'.

Using junkyard parts

I repaired the turn signal switch. I replaced the turn siganl cam with a nice one. The signals work like new again...

Since the truck was originally a 454 truck, the original p/s pump had been 'rigged up' to fit a small block. I ran it for a while, but lately the fabbed up brackets began to fatigue and break. I got a small block setup from the junkyard and put it in... It's proper now...

Other than that, she's treating me good and bringing me to work everyday...

Did a little something to the '73. Thanks Jonboy for the extra air cleaner. I actually located one at the shop right before yours arrived, but I like having extra parts on the shelf.

I got this idea from the show "Musclecar". They made a double snorkel air cleaner for one of their projects. I found a donor air cleaner... did some cutting and grinding a riveting and painting and this is what I came up with...

If you seen this whole thread, you'll know that about 90% of this truck is built with junkyard, swap meet, freebie, or homemade parts... a real budget builder.

Well, sticking with that plan, I asked a local gearhead in conversation if he had any Flowmasters or "Flowmaster" type mufflers. He said, "Let's walk back to my exhaust pile back here". Sure enough he had a complete exhaust setup, from the collector, 3" inch pipe, Flo-Pro mufflers with turn downs that will dump just before the axle.... $40.

That's the next thing going in...

hopefully the bends in the pipe will fit your truck. i have a junkyard exhaust system very similar to yours, and it doesn't fit correctly. so now i have to pay a shop to run pipe from my junkyard headers to my junkyard 40 series flows haha

Thanks... I'm running 15x8's all the way around... 235/60's up front, 295/50's in the rear.
