67-70 Bumper on a 71-21

Ok, im too lazy to search this, but what kind of work am I looking into to get the bumper from a 67-70 w/o the big ugly light holes in it to fit on my 71? I cannot stand that ugly bumper... I would go ahead and buy it and try it, but Im overseas and my inquiring mind wants to know. I thank you for the answers if I even get any!

The bumper from a 70 will fit if you use the 70 and older outer brackets on your truck.

I'm not 100% sure but I'm 99.9997% sure that 71-72 outer brackets will work on the earlier bumper. When putting a 71-72 front bumper on an earlier truck you need the slightly different outer brackets with provisions for the blinker buckets. Ask me how I know...

you need the outer arms from the 67 - 70 truck to put the 67 - 70 bumper on a 71/72. That's the only thing you need to worry about, nuts and bolts swap.

Does it matter if its a 4x4 or are brackets the same as 2x4,reason I ask is I was looking at LMC catalouge and does not show the outer braces as being the same

4x4 and 2x4 outer brackets are different as the outer bracket on the 4x4 bolts to the frame at the front spring hanger.

Don't forget you need to rig up some new park/turn signal lights, unless you go with the 69-70 grill also.
