Re: Long time listener, first time caller
The paint is so fresh it has not even had the first buffing yet. There are someplaces that need to be fixed but for my kids senior project for Autobody I think its great compared to what it used to look like.
I have tinted the back lenses and the tires at 16X10 with 255/50/16 tires. when I got them I had been out of the automotive and tire buisness for several years due to a hand injury and had not realized that at that time (8 years or so) that the larger wheels and tires were just as cheap as these were. If i had i would have gone with 18 at the time. Now looking on this board I want to go with 22X10 in the back and 20X8 in the front to kind of give it the SSR look. The most pressing thing at the moment is getting the herculiner in this month. I dont have the 600 for the Rhino liner I really want so the herculiner will have to do. I have seats from a 2000 Mitsubishi Galant that I have been trying to get in but this is getting to be a huge PITA. just cant seem to get them low enough using the factory bolt holes. |

Re: Long time listener, first time caller
Looks like a cool project. It will scream with that engine rebuilt or at least look really fast. Gotta love superchargers.

Re: Long time listener, first time caller
Good lookin truck, I'm convinced to paint my front bumper. keep up the good work. Are you going to black out the grill or do a billet phantom grill. Here's a little inspiration.

I also installed some L.E.D. strips to the inside edge of the handles to illuminate against the body at night for a cool effect.

Re: Long time listener, first time caller
I used the lens tint from AutoZone. Just have to remember to do a very light coat, its tint not paint. but while I have browsed the forums here I had an idea about getting better bulbs under the lenses. I'm going to look at the big rig LED tail lights, the round ones but instead of mounting them flush i'm going to mount them actually under the outer lens in place of the stock bulb. That should be a huge improvement and even better that stock lenses with no tint hopefully.

Re: Long time listener, first time caller
Looks good and the planned upgrades will only make it better . I like the little supercharged small chevy , and the added Nitrous will only help.

Re: Long time listener, first time caller
after reading alot of the boards I decided to pick up a rear sway bar off of a camaro. here is the parts I have and I will start working on this soon.
I know the other boards talk about doing this to the earlier trucks but with the flip kit I am hoping I can get this installed. Any insight or other threads I might have missed in doing this on an 81??? Baron |
