I would say that is exactly the kind of seat it is. Looks good, but nothing real fancy. One that you see at the swap meets, traders village, or the shops that sale tons of seats.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

here are a few specs.... The engine is a 383 with Eagle 4340 forged crank, Crower 5.7 stroker sportsman rods, Arias blower pistons, Isky hyd cam, World Sportsman II heads, Weiand 671, BDS 8 nozzle electronic bug catcher controlled by FAST ecu, manual/reverse turbo 400, 3500 stall with trans brake, 12 bolt, 4:56,spooled, 4 link, moser axles,Wilwood disc brake kit, P255/16OR15 on convo pro 15x8 front/Hoosier Radials 31x18 on convo pro 15x14 rear and a whole lot of fun. It's not a racer, just something to get me from point A to point B and everywhere in between.

Where did you get those trim rings? Would they fit stock rally wheels? I vote for a stock themed blue and white paint job.

The same rules apply to small trucks as big ones. S10s are very close to the same suspension we have.

My advice would be to buy a dropmember and put it in if you're looking to spend that amount of money, though. I have a link to a square body build on another site (that competes with this one), but you don't have PMs enabled for me to be able to send it to you.
then send them my way

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

I've been checkin out all the nice trucks on here and I thought I'd join in.
I've noticed this section has grown a bunch since the last time I looked.
Really great trucks guys!

I traded this 81 for a 79 short bed I didn't keep because of all of the rust
it had I didn't know about til I pulled up the carpet. I did a bad trade just to
get those round headlights. I don't think I have any pics of the 79.

I guess I'll stick to the long beds for now, those were the only shortbed I've had.
I've had a few long beds and I guess I like them better for some strange reason.
I've put up a pic with my 77 in the background too.

Nate.

thank you! the entire front has been rebuilt w/ 1 coil cut off the old springs (belltechs rode too rough) and the rear is stock sagging leafs w/ 2 removed. the rims are 15x8.5 w/ 295/50's all around. still too much of a gap for me. spindles and flip kit are coming soon as the frame gets tore down and painted...

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

I am feeling the pinch guys. Just had a power steering pump go bad and on the first drive after fixing it, my tranny started slipping. Picked up one with just a few miles for $150 from a dirt track racer and thought I was in business but now that I am under it the mount is bad and once the old tranny was removed we noticed the flywheel was cracked. I never noticed it but the tranny kick down cable was broke too. I examined the exhaust as well and noticed a hole in one muffler. now my rims and suspension install must wait.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

Time isn't always a bad thing. I've seen a lot of people as soon as they paint a truck, or do something major wish they had done something else. If you have more time, and have to wait for funds, like I do, you can sometimes have a more concrete plan of action. My uncle just bought a truck that has the copper color on top, and black on the bottom. It looks awesome.

Thanks ...that looks pretty cool on his . I had thought of doing mine that way kinda...with black on bottom and like a Harley orange on top, but decided on the one color ( copperhead )

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

^^^ I really like the truck, just not the wheels. I think 1000 for a wrecked tahoe is an awesome deal. You could part out the interior and get that much back. I've been getting a price of 1000 for just an engine w/accessories and harness from a salvage yard, so if you get the chance take it. A 5.3 and 4L60e would be perfect in that truck.
