Problem Installing U-Joints
Everytime I replace u-joints I always have a problem getting 1 out of thr 4 clips in. Three go in with no problem. The 4th cap always sets about 1/16-1/32 to high. No matter what I do it won't go down enough to get the clip in. Anybody else had this problem? What am I doing wrong? Andrew

Common problem! I have to beat the joint back into the cap on the opposite side very convincingly to seat it...clip should then go in, if not, repeat beating!! Don't break anything tho!

Make sure and clean out your grooves. Sometimes i have to sand down the ends of the caps. Wetsanding works well. Get some 600 wet/dry paper. It will work good. Takes a few minutes. But worth the effort. Better than beating the crap out of the ujoint.

Make sure one of the little needle bearings didn't fall out of place & get in the way. They are about 1/32" to 1/16" thick. (Do this before bashing, etc.)
