floor question
I have a 70 c/20 4x4 that needs floors bad. Its gonna need new pans on both sides, front and rear supports, rockers, cab corners, outer floor patches, the rear of the floor under both sides of the tank and im sure im missing a couple. Do you guys think it would be easier to just buy the replacement floor or to buy the separate pieces. Im very confident in my metal working skills but i want to know what you guys think would be the best/ easiest this is my first time doing floors and i don't wanna make it any harder on myself. Sorry i cant upload pics right now ill try later but its pretty well shot.
Thanks, Brandon |

Re: floor question
Overall I think it would be best to just do the whole floor as a unit.
My son fixed the damage you are describing one piece at a time and swears he will never do it that way again. Some one on here did the whole floor and you might find how they did it if you use the search feature. Hopefully some one else that has done these repairs will chime in.

Re: floor question
I did the whole floor on my 68 build... pretty easy to do if the rest of your cab is nice... might be just as cheap to find a new cab though... My floor was $375 and I brought it home from a car show (no shipping)....

Re: floor question
Im in the same boat as you, I am going with a complete floor. We'll see how it goes, I added up everything I needed and the complete floor would be cheaper than all the panels, and then you dont have to deal with welding in all those different panels. JMO

Re: floor question
I also purchased a whole floor, similar issues. Keep in mind you still need cab corners and outer rockers, they are not part of the floor at all. I have all the parts here now, its just a matter of getting it all apart and then back together, I will take pics. It should happen in the next month.

Re: floor question
Sorry i haven't been able to be on or post pics or reply but work has consumed me lately i gotta make money to fix my truck after all.
We have a car show coming up on july 9-12 and ill be looking there. The rest of the cab is great and i already have rockers and cab corners laying around that i picked up for nothing. I wish i could pick up that floor from craigslist but im in Wisconsin and im afraid to know what that guy would charge to ship it. Im very thankful for your guys opinions and i have decided ill do the whole floor but now i just gotta wait and see how cheap i can pick one up locally. Im gonna keep crawling the site for more help info on doing the floor and soak up as much as i can. Thank you guys so much for the help Brandon |

Re: floor question
GMC Pauls in Indiana carries them too... see if he's going to be in your area or make a trip down that way...
