292 badge / trim option trivia
The more I learn about these trucks, the more I'm amazed at the different trivial options or differences that were available from the factory.
You don't find the 292 badge in any catalogs, and I haven't seen them on any other trucks, but I know I haven't seen very many trucks, relative to how many are left out there. Maybe people upgrade the badge before that engines. A 396 badge increase the value / potential of my truck. I'm still waiting to see a '69 longbed like my dad had from new for almost 20 years before the rust gremlins got the best of it. It was light metalic green, with 250 3 sp. on the column with upper trim on the sides, but no lower. Of course I can't look inside the glove box now to see what trim option was indicated. |

I pulled two 292 badges off a 71 Chev 3/4 ton a couple months back. had the 292 still in it .. I grabbed the power-lok 4.10's out of it too. Was an automatic so I grabbed the column and the seat belts were good......green in color. It was scrapped due to a bad automatic tranny. The motor parts disappered on a daily basis or might have grabbed that also... didn't have PS though.
