Steering column wiring question.

I'm seeking your expert advice again! Installing a 70's tilt column. I had the double horse shoe on my (66) the new one (70's) has a horse shoe w/pins and it attaches to a flat bar. On several of the cached references several times someone said "to get the pigtail adapter"! Is this the case with this application and if so what do I ask for. Thanks in advance guys! Hutch

$35... I made my own.. When I took the column from the van I snipped the plug from the main harness with enough wire and then snipped the plug from my 65 column and joined them together to make a pigtail. Some of the wires are differnt colors but not that hard to figure out.

Thanks guys. Wish i had the other end to be able to make my own, wasn't on the the column when I bought it. Gotta do some finagalin with the column....the neutral switch is all in the brake pedal gotta cut out some at the inner fender for the lower half to come back down so as to bring the column and neutral safety towards the engine compartment. Anyway I appreciate the info. H

Can you explain to me how your going to do the safety switch. I just installed a 71 column as well. Thanks

Sick5. I had one on the other column (I'm taking out). I'm just wiring with the orig wires to the pigtail on the 70's column. I have to cut out about 2" on the inner fender so that the boot coupling on the collaspable shaft can come back towards the gear box. This should give me the clearance on the neutral safety switch under the dash. Now, it's all in the way of the brake pedal assembly. I'll post some pic's once it's done. Gotta wait till monday for the new harness. Gonna throw the old column back in for the weekend though.
