Reproduction or repair original?
Have 2 black factory steering wheels with some cracks. Are the repros of good quality or is there a real good repair for the originals?

Re: Reproduction or repair original?
I don't know your goal but for mine (a driver.) I ground out the cracks a bit, filled them with epoxy(generic) and filed/sanded it smooth. Then I hung it up by a wire and cleaned it with carb cleaner(what I had handy).I let it dry well then spray painted it with either Rustoleum or Krylon. The rim was wrapped with an old school leather steering wheel wrap. It's lasted about 7-8 years and is starting to show a bit of wear.I was also lucky enough to find a horn button in perfect shape so when I first did it ,it looked very good.
BTW Mine is a factory 68 3 spoke so I did not need to worry about matching the texture of the spokes since they are smooth.

Re: Reproduction or repair original?
I don't want to be able to tell it was repaired by looking at it, and as you mentioned, there is the texture to deal with.
