71 Blazer Seat Belt Mounts

I recently picked up a 71 Blazer and the PO re-carpeted it. Apparently he has seatbelts for it but never put them in. I have no idea where they should go so any help is greatly appreciated. Also look out for a build thread in the near future.

Re: 71 Blazer Seat Belt Mounts

I have seen them a few ways.

1. The outer belts mounted to the hinge bolt for the seat back on each side. Middle belts bolted to the floor with an angled vinyl cover where seat mounts to floor.

2. Outside belts bolted to floor through seat mounts with angled vinyl cover and inside belts bolted to the seat mounting bracket off the floor (middleof bracket) with straight vinyl covers.

3. I think I have also seen them with straight vinyl covers mounted to the four rear seat mounting brackets.

Some seats had only two rear mounting brackets. Not sure of the diffferences.

Re: 71 Blazer Seat Belt Mounts

I just picked up seat belts too. On the drive side of mine, there's a bolt hole between the door and bracket I was going to use, but not one on the passenger. For the middle, I was planning on using bolt holes that are on the verticle piece between the cab and bed floor. I'll post some pics of what I'm talking about when I get home.

I did mine too recently. Go underneath and look for the threaded holes for the belts and poke an ice pick or something pointy and sharp thru the carpet.

The outer belts both bolt to the floor and the inner ones bolt to the upright panel just behind the seats by the console on a '72 model. Not sure on a '71, but probably the same!
