Corvette Style Rally Wheel Backspacing??
OK guys I have read a few other threads on here and Im still a bit confused. I have an 86 GMC 2wd short bed that I am going to lower 4/6. I want to run the corvette style truck rally but Im confused on the backspacing that I need. I would like to run a 15x10 on the back with a set of 275/50/15 MT drag radials that I have from another project that I never got a chance to use. Do I need the 4.5" or the 5" backspace? I want the tires to tuck into the fenders when the truck is lowered without any rubbing issues.
Thanks. |

Re: Corvette Style Rally Wheel Backspacing??
5" back spacing will center the wheel/tire in the well. 4.5" will shift it .500" toward the outer edge. Either will work @ mild drops; the 5" is better for big drops.
