Rear drop question

Ok, I want to lower my rear end by two inches and I can't find a reasonable drop hanger so my question is where I can find a flip kit, I will remove my shackles and just use a no notch kit. Or can I remove a few leaf springs ( I have removed the overload already but it has hangers on it now, I need a 2/4 drop and have hangers now. Also what springs should I get and are there any other chevy trucks I can get off the shelves that would fit my truck?

A source for a cheap (but good) flip kit or leaf removal and good shock source are my questions,

Thanks

Jesse

Re: Rear drop question

If you want to do this on the cheap, it will require some effort to accomplish. If you drill the rivets from the stock hanger, you can raise it up almost two inches on the frame. You make need to chop the upper ends of the brackets off to clear. Drill new holes in the bracket and bolt it down.

Note that this should be done in conjunction with a lowering shackle to keep the pinion angle on plane.

Re: Rear drop question

If I did it that way, when I remove the bracket should I measure 2" from the bottom hole. Its a great idea and would save a bunch of cash, can you give me (or a link) a how-to on what to do to mod the hanger?????

Thanks

Jesse
