Bell Tech flip
I just installed the flip on my 83 1/2 ton. Wanted to make sure I did it right. It said to put the offset hole on the saddle toward the front of the truck basically moving the axle back. Is this correct?
Also I installed the c-notches using the pattern they provided but they seem like they are not directly above the axle. It is off the ground though so maybe it will line up better once there is weight on it. |

Re: Bell Tech flip
The hole towards the front is correct.
Got any pics of the notch?

Re: Bell Tech flip
Yes, you are correct...they look off when the truck is up in the air, prior to being flipped. This is why there is an offset hole on the axle saddle...to line things back up once lowering kit is installed.

Re: Bell Tech flip
I will shoot some tomorrow. They use a reference hole on thier pattern and it is the only hole around so I am assuming it is correct. It just appears the notch is to far back the way it is sitting. It is off the ground though. I hope it is right. That would suck. I can say it is a little further back than than the stock bump stop was

One more thing I thought was weird. The bell tech saddles do not contact the bottom of the axle perch. I just kindof rotated the axle until the gaps were the same front and back and tightened down the u bolts. Does that sound right to you guys as well. |

Re: Bell Tech flip
Something is not correct there. It each 'leg' should tuck up into the bottom of the OE spring perch on the rear end.

Re: Bell Tech flip
I had the same thing happen to me on a DJM flip I installed on an 82 SWB. I called DJM and they gave me no help at all. I just installed it the same way you mentioned. I only got to drive it a few hundred miles before I got an offer I couldn't refuse, but never had any problems, but I definitely didn’t like the thought of it either.
