Tool Box

I'd like to get a tool box for my '68 lwb, the problem is I Have a saddle tank in front of the driver side wheel well, So my thoughts were get a used reg fleetside box and just cut a notch for the tank, or get one for a stepside that'd fit between the tank and the bed. I'd kinda like one that rests on the bedside cause I like the look, what d'yall think?

Re: Tool Box

Maybe some more pics would help.

I would like a setup like this, but with the gas tank in the way I'd have to cut a notch in the tool box to make it fit.

My other option would be something like this, that would fit between the tank and bedside.

Re: Tool Box

I would say option 2. Not having to modify the box will save a lot of time and work. Can you weld aluminum? Most boxes are made from that and if you don't have the welder and skills to do aluminum, you have your answer.
