The door pulls are from Billet Specialties.

The chevy emblems I picked up off ebay. They are chevy grill emblems.

Just curious to see how much I am pushin to get a baseline would be sweet.

There are meters to test this. Most competent audio shops should have a meter and/or spectrum analyzer to properly measure, adjust, and test your system. Competitions have very specific rules regarding Mic placement, windows open/closed, etc. My results are instead, a real world reflection of output levels.

On a side note: my new truck is louder than the '85 but has not been measured yet. We are waiting to add an Audison BitOne and will do our final adjustments and testing then...

I know where livermore is but I don't make it out that way very much. Check the 'California' section of the regional forums. There's one or two I will be at this year with the '85 and a couple more with the '05. This reminds me' I gotta take the '85 out for a drive...

Flying in the face of the trend to expose every part of a sound system, I've been adding to the system in my '79 Big10 and trying to keep it as inconspicuous as possible. Number one because I don't some SOB thief breaking-in. The stock antenna is in the windshield, but there's a big 'ol crack, so I'm going to a Dakota Digital electronic when I put in a new windshield (don't want to drill a hole in the fender either. Notice the Powerbass 12-inch sub cabinet tucks tight to the cab wall, so the bench seat can be slid all the way back, same as stock. I'm going to build a board to mount the Powerbass amp, and the brain for the Gearstar 4L60E.

In retrospect, not to make a pun, but I really wish I had known about Retro Sound's shaft-mount head uni, so I didn't have to cut the dash. I'll be using a Retro Sound head unit in the Covan / Autometer dash in my '75 Big10 — Yeah I know, my '75 is a little rough.

I'd love to get a BitOne, but I think I'm going with 2 RF 3sixty.2's, seems like I can find a pair of them cheaper than one Audison unit.

No pictures of mine at the moment (I am at work), but mine consist of the following

Head unit
Factory AM/FM, completely upgraded/updated with new digital internals along with MP3 and pre-amp putputs. Looks comnpletely stock, but functions and sounds like a brand new radio. All work done by http://www.turnswitch.com/

Speakers
Rear 6x9's mounted in my fabricated cab corner brackets, front 4x6's mounted in factory GM 79-80 door speaker assemblies.

I may add an amp and sub at some point, but for now, this is my system and i am very happy with it.

Yeah...
But can still do most of what a BitOne can do with a pair of 3Sixty.2's for less money, and besides, all I really need it for is the EQ, TA, and active xovers, plus bluetooth tuning with my Palm Treo that I would've thrown away a couple years back will kill 2 birds with one stone, having a use for the Palm and having a way to tune the processors. And I have no where to put the BitOne controller :P

So i know this thread is kind of old, but I just put a new 450x4 Image Dynamics amp in my truck and I am putting another set of 6X9 in my doors and dynamating my door's and rear cab. Love working at a stereo shop oops forgot, got a new Kenwood deck also!!
