i did the back first and put n the shackles, didnt take out any leafs though yet. took 1 1/2 coils out of the front springs. gonna wait a few days till the front springs settle, then maybe ill take a few out the back f need be. rides just fine so far and i havent had any issues. went pretty smooth.

Re: FINALLY....got the "knight-owl" lowered!

yeah just came from the grocery store, and think i am gonna take out a leaf or two in the back. seems the tailgate is up hgh as hell sitting in the drivers seat, but doesnt look too bad from the outside. anyone know how long is a good time to wait and let my springs up front settle in? i dont want it to settle too much lower in the front, i thnk its perfect up front for now.

I wouldn't think there would be any settling seeing how you just cut your stock springs.

Re: FINALLY....got the "knight-owl" lowered!

hmmm....never even thought about that. ill be swapping rear axles with a buddy's truck sometime this week hopefully so ill prolly take out a few of the leafs then.

im thinking to definately take out the overload, but would that be enough or do you think that and the one above it? i dont haul anythng so not worried about that.

Re: FINALLY....got the "knight-owl" lowered!

overloads taken out wont make that much difference . The longer springs on top will lower it the most , but ride will be very springy unless you have some good stiff shocks

good luck

Re: FINALLY....got the "knight-owl" lowered!

so if i take out one of the big ones up top and leave in the overload would that be better for trying to keep my ride quality?

Re: FINALLY....got the "knight-owl" lowered!

got a chance to swap out rear ends today, so i took the liberty of taking out that extra leaf from each side. took out the secondone from the top, and now t sits just perfect. ill post pcs tommorrow, sun was down after i finished up. i just need to get ome shorter bumpstos now. was surprised at how well it still rides.
