HELP! Shortening Steering Column

I know someone gave me this information before but I can't find it. I am looking for step by step instructions on how to shorten my steering column and how difficult it really is.

try this: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=191143

I've done it several times, pretty easy. Remember to chuck your wheels before you drop the column, it may jump out of park.

Re: HELP! Shortening Steering Column

My steering column is ready to go back in. I see the slot on the steering column, but I don't see anything on the brake pedal frame to fit into this slot. Is there another part that fits into this slot?

Re: HELP! Shortening Steering Column

There should be a small metal nub that goes in the slot. That's why it is necessary to elongate the slot.

I'll take a picture of the brake pedal frame if I can get a camera in there.....
