Testing New Gooseneck Hitch on my Duramax!

Just took my new B&W gooseneck hitch on its maiden voyage tonight. It performed flawlessly. This was my first time hauling a GN trailer and I can see why people love them! They pull so much nicer than the bumper pull trailers with so much less of the herky-jerky sensations you get with the bumper pulls.

I like that trailer, would be a good scrap metal hauler.

Re: Testing New Gooseneck Hitch on my Duramax!

You will love the B&W hitch. We have them both in my 03 1500HD, and our 02 2500HD Duramax. Being able to flip the ball over when you need to is awesome. One thing to do though after using it a few times is to go back and check all the bolts. They sometimes will loosen just a bit after the first few uses.

Also one little tidbit about the hitch. Always make sure to double check the release lever for the ball. My cousin forgot to slide it back in one time, and when they loaded something on the trailer the ball, and trailer popped out. The one on our 03 has a catch that keeps it pulled out so you can climb in the bed to flip the ball over. However, they changed the design, and the newer one on our 02 doesn't have this catch. So you can't forget. I guess he wasn't the only one.

I agree about pulling a gooseneck. I like pulling them a lot better than our bumper pull ones. I guess it's just what you're used to pulling.

That is one of my intended uses for it! I have a load I need to take now as a matter of fact!

Good tips! Thanks! My lever has the catch on it as well. I definitely don't want to have the experience of the ball popping out when I hit the accelerator so I will be keeping an eye on that for sure!
