New body bushings

I have a 1971 C10 (V-8, 2WD, long bed) that I want to install new body bushings.

1. Has anyone done this and is it easy? Any ideas/suggestions?

2. The stock body bushings were rubber. I haven't found anyone who sells repro rubber bushings ... anyone know of where to get them?

3. Outfits such as CPP and Energy Suspension sell polyurethane body bushing sets. Has anyone used these ... if so, any good?

4. When you buy a bushing kit ... is it just for the cab, cab and bed, or what?

i bought mine from energy, came with cab and core support bushings. the bed bolts to the frame without bushings.

How difficult was it to install the Energy Suspension body bushings?

just about any vendor sells rubber stock bushings// i prefered the rubber over the urathane(had them for a few weeks were toostiff)

as far as changing the bushings it's pretty easy take a jack with a piece of woodd to spead the load and jackup one side at a time about 1or 2inches, remove old slip in new lower jack

I bought my Blazer with brand new poly bushings already installed. I can't say if they are too stiff as I have no reference to what it was like before, but I can say that they squeek a lot. I haven't tried putting any type of lube on them yet, but I was hoping some white lithium grease spray will help...If I ever do it over, I'd buy the rubber ones.

Any suggestions on where to buy original-type rubber bushings? I checked Classic Industries, CPP, and Truck Shop ... but they didn't have them.

go to main page here click on the vendors list//classic heartbeat,gmc pauls,lmc, brothers just about anybody on that list should have them

I know they are listed in the LMC catalog. I am not sure about the quality compared to other places. They are also listed in the Truck Shop catalog.

I got my rubber bushing kit at The Truck Shop...most inexpensive I have found. Top quality, couldn't be happier. I guarantee they have it in stock, they never run out of parts Complete with cab and core support bushings.

Pull the bushings and liberally apply this stuff to both sides.

No more squeaks. I have poly bushings on my Jimmy and am real happy with them. Never done it on a truck but the Jimmy took some time. One reason was that the bolts were all welded in place and had to be cut out.
