'53 5 window progress report
I've been working on this thing four years now and so far I've rebuilt the front end, put on a disc brake conversion with 11" GM rotors, put in a '76 Camaro 10 bolt rear, and this summer installed a rebuilt '62 283 4bbl engine, 11" Zoom clutch and SM 465 4 speed. Next up is a drive shaft and exhaust then fire and break in the engine. You can put a V8 into an Advanced Design truck and keep the stock steering box by using 55-56 log style exhaust manifolds. My long suffering wife does not ask for much be she wanted to keep the big steering wheel and have a truck 4 speed. Pictures forthcoming.
PS: I am the father of Powell72 and he won the Auto Cross truck class at this years Goodguys event (Windsor Colorado) in his lowered 72 C-10 short bed with 350/700R4 drive train. Last edited by xaircav; 08-29-2010 at 04:37 PM. |
