Wasn't in a junk-yard, but was on the side of the road left for dead,... with a blown engine.

Re: sad things you see in the junk yard

The only reason they make it to the junkyard here in PA is rust. Otherwise people just keep them on the road forever. My last truck was a 91 Subaurban, it ran and drove perfect with 250,000 miles. But every panel had huge rot holes and the body was coming off the frame. So I finally had to scrap it.

Same situation in MD. Many of the yards aren't keeping the older stuff like they used to...I know one of them doens't let the late model stuff set long before the pull the money making parts and crush the rest...I guess it's the nature of the business if it sits and isn't making money crush it and put a new one in it's spot, repeat as needed or space becomes limited.

Check out the prices on the caps alone.... aftermarket ones are pricey... and actual G.M. caps. are outragous

not counting the cost of the rims themselves.... so yeah, they can be popular to square owners,.. IMO even pre 73 trucks look good with em too

if you can get em for cheap.. grab em clean em up and sell em.. prolly make you a couple bucks
