Tracing the history
I know I've seen that GM Canada is better about this, but can Flint provide any info about where my truck was originally sold?

Nope - rumor has it that the US records went away in a fire in the 70's - however they can still trace most corvettes which I find interesting
Start with your local DMV - you will normally have to fill out a formindicating that you are using the information for research reasons only Check the web for you DMV often the form is on the web - sometimes you can do some basic traces on the DMV web as well
