Question Rear 6" drop/Front 4 1/2" drop.

Hello all. I am in the process of a 67 SWB build. I already have a front end with 2 1/2" drop spindles and 2" drop springs (4 1/2" drop in front). I have a leaf spring rear end and wanting to drop the rear 6". Can this be done using the existing leaf springs, without "c-notching" the frame? Just some additional information; the rear end I went with is a Ford 9".

Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, ROBO66

That much drop can be done on coil spring trucks without a c-notch, but that's about the limit.

I'm running a 6" drop with coils and ended up having to notch the frame to avoid banging on larger bumps, let alone putting anything in the back.

Re: Rear 6" drop/Front 4 1/2" drop.

I have a 69 GMC swb with leafs. I did an axle flip and got 6in drop but u have t C-notch the frame. Its really not hard I did mine with cpp bolt in kit nice kit it worked great. I did mine by myself in abouT 16 hrs but I bolted and weld the kit. But if u notch rember the brake line I cut thru mine lol that added a bit mor time to the work. and u can pull the axle out and get it all painted up nice and purrdy wile ur at it. Also I moved the axle back 3\4 in to center the weel in the well. I had bout a$180.00 in it all together including paint and new brake lines. Hope I helped
