Re: new truck

about as hard as any other truck I'd think. Some of them came stock with a 454 so probably not too hard really.

Re: new truck

Sounds like an awesome deal. I love it, but I'm biased -- my shorty is white with red/black accents too...

Do you know if your truck is an original Sport? Is the SPID still on the glovebox door?

Re: new truck

Sweet. SPID is "special production ID" and the label inside the glovebox door has all the option codes for your truck's original equipment. It's how you know what was on the truck when it left the factory. The RPO (regular production option) code for the Sport package is BYP.

You've got a pretty cool truck on your hands. Here's a thread dedicated to them: Chevy Sport Truck questions

Got any interior pics?

Re: new truck

I like that steering wheel a lot. Looks really clean in there with the new seat and carpet.

Re: new truck

Nice find for 6 bones. Throwing in a new core support and bumper bracs will make for a nice weekend project. Plenty of easy to find parts still available for OBS trucks so that makes the projects even merrier.

As for a 454 Vortec Swap.....the hardest thing to do will be swapping out the engine wire harness.
