High Mileage Question on 6.0L
Im looking at buying a 2002 Chevy 2500 Regular Cab Long Bed 2wd with the 6.0L in it. the motor has 325,000 miles on it. The guy is selling it for $2000.
Is this truck worth buying? I dont really know anything about the 6.0L or how well they handle high mileage. Thanks-Jake |

Re: High Mileage Question on 6.0L
For the price it seems like a good deal. That is a lot of miles on any engine, but if he kept the maintenance up it should still be worth the $2,000.

Re: High Mileage Question on 6.0L
Personally, I would be more concerned with the condition of the rest of the drivetrain. That is a lot of miles, but like John said if the maintenance was kept up on, it should be OK for normal everyday use. Look over the front end real good (steering linkages, control arm bushings, ball joints, shocks, etc.), rear suspension.
If you plan on hauling or using it for more grunt-type work, spend $800-$1000 and put a low mileage 6.0L in it and sell off the high mileage one to someone looking for an LS swap builder engine.
