Mystery power booster
I am tryignto find out what this power brake booster came off of. It was in a 54 Chevy wagon but don't think it was original.

Re: Mystery power booster
Its a hydrovac unit and it looks to be year correct to me, Whether it was added to the car I can't tell you but they did come as an option. A 2 ton hydovac is larger

Re: Mystery power booster
I agree completely. This was the most common PB setup when cars still had their MC under the floor because it could be remote-mounted.

Re: Mystery power booster
Thanks. It was on a 54 wagon but I am changing it out to a more modern brake system and it is getting replaced. It does have a rebuilt tag on it, must of been a long time ago.

Re: Mystery power booster
It does have some value so don't toss it. They are fairly hard to find in good condition like yours is.

Re: Mystery power booster
The rebuild part are still available for that unit. As suggested, don't trash it. I'm sure someone is looking for one.
