Re: Front Control Arm U bolt
Rangers game is over & I haven't seen a response so I pulled a disc brake u-bolt & it's sitting on my toolbox. I could meet you @ the school in the am I guess (none of the Garland HS's are that far from me)??
I'll check back in early morning.

Around here, some do, some don't. I spoke w/him & suggested a local NAPA & he found what was needed.

Re: Front Control Arm U bolt
Well, he called me back & found out that the 'new' u-bolts are for disc equipped trucks & he has a drum x-member so they're too big. I'll get him one of the smaller dia ones so he can get going again tonight.

Re: Front Control Arm U bolt
Either should have worked, the bigger ones just need to be smacked sideways with a hammer a little. BUT, when I did my disc swap, I compared the drum-smaller U-bolt to the disc-bigger U-bolt.
The older U-bolt was of a harder material. The "old" bolts cleaned up and looked like new, no pitting, perfect. The "new" were pitted badly and did not clean up at all. After I adjusted the bigger U-bolts, I did the same hammer tap to the old U-bolts. The new bolt bent just enough, the old bolts just bounced the hammer. I did a simple hardness test with a hammer and punch, again the old U-bolt showed up as harder. I used the old U-bolts. They were just better.

Re: Front Control Arm U bolt
SCOTI came through big time great guy thanks again. I just could not see myself setting in a parking lot drilling through a frame with a cordless drill trying to get the 9/16 to fit.
