Help with tilt wheel
I bought a rebuilt, tilt, column from the Truck and Car Shop and am in the process of installing it. My problem is the shift detent plate that is on the old column; do I need to remove it and put it on the new column?
Any suggestions? Picture of old and new at: http://members.cox.net/keiths3/P6100056.JPG Last edited by 70 longbed; 06-10-2003 at 01:29 PM. |

You don't need to transfer the detent as the detent on the tilt column is set up to work with the shifter handle in the upper part of the column.
Nice pic, but it looks like the bearing is missing out of the old column! Jim |

Yeah, it is laying on the bench. It was working just fine, but wanted to go to tilt while I have everything all apart.
