I have a question....
When you attach a wire to the positive terminal, if it sparks (even tiny spark), does that mean something is drawing power from battery?

as long as the circuit is grounded yeah,it's drawing from your battery. the ground is whats giving you the spark. if it wasn't grounded in some way there would not be any resistance, hence, the spark.shop class in high school seems to come to mind also...........lol

if you would describe the spark as itty bitty, then you're probably OK.
You have a modern stereo in there with memory and the like don't you? |

The answer to your question is YES, that means something is drawing power through that circuit.

I have no stereo wired up yet. Just basic wiring harness things like lights, etc. I have the black wire hooked up (to the alternator bracket and to inner fender). When I touch the red wire from harness to the positive side there is tiny spark. Should I be concerned?

I've had the same thing happen. Turned out that the grime on the starter was conducting a very small amount of juice.
