73-87 Tilt in a 70
Hello All,
Is it possible to use a 73-87 pickup tilt column in a 70 pickup? I know anything is possible, but is it feasable? I searched around the site for any posting on this, but all I found were articles on converting the van columns. I'm talking the pickup/suburban columns. I'm in the process of installing power disk brakes in my truck (using a 1985 setup from a pickup) and figure I just as well as add a tilt wheel into it too. Thanks Mike

You could make it work, but it would be a hatchet job at best. Look how big around the newer column is where it goes into the dash/instrument panel. WAY TOO BIG. Plenty of van columns around here, I have one for cheap if you want to do it easily.

shift indicator
Also, the shift indicator is in the dash, not on the column.

Thanks. Those are two things I haven't thought of.
I'll check our local junk yards for a van tilt and go from there. Mike
