77 Silverado Build thread
Got some of the interior done with a little free time (which sadly never comes hardly ) but here are a few pics....I got the lower door carpets off, all the pillar molding except the back corners and the front, wondered why I had a cargo light switch when I have no cargo light, under column trim, door inserts, pullstraps...and that's about it....long way to go but at least I started it.....(I guess this might be my build thread.....slow but it will get done eventually)

Re: Got a little done today....
Nice. I'm pretty busy with a couple of young kids and a wife, but I always look at every small chunk of progress as another piece of the puzzle.

Re: Got a little done today....
Well last night after a trip to O'Riley auto parts for some new bulbs my tire blew....right as I put it in park in the driveway a big gash opened up and it went flat within half a minute....I needed new tires but was going to get everything I could out of these...well I guess it's time for new ones.....

Re: Got a little done today....
i'd throw a jack stand under the driver side, keep that wheel off the ground and prevent it from possibly bending.
sweet truck btw

Re: Got a little done today....
Broke into the passenger door today and the dash....got my radio working (had to ground it and cut new wires) well out of 4 speakers only one works....two of the speakers were shot (like literally) and got the bed rails off eventually by just breaking the bolts off....

Re: Got a little done today....
Just had a few minutes so I went outside to see about getting those old bed-rails off, I got them off....out of the 12 bolts holding them down 11 of them were so rusty I just broke them off now it actually looks a lot better without them.

I think I had those same bed rails on my 85 Sierra when I got it. Did you find some wheels yet?

Re: Got a little done today....
Nice instrument bzl.
Yah, got to hate flats. I want to start working on my interior and paint but first I got to get it running. Rebuilt transmission is still not working and loosing all the fluid out the overflow valve????? then saturday my tire went flat and my radiator (which was leaking) just blew the hole wide open and started spraying coolent everywhere! |

Re: Got a little done today....
Painted some parts today, got the headliner out....just a question....I was able to get the passenger upper seat-belt bolt thing out but I was NOT able to get the drivers one out....hurt my back trying to brace myself against it to ...any idea's on trying to get it out without an electric ratchet or air ratchet? I already WD-40d it.... oh and here is just what my engine looks like...
