Rear spring bushings and shackle bushings
1987 3/4 ton 4wd truck (v2500)
I am trying to find replacement rubber bushings for my rear spring shackles. I can order Moog spring bushings (from Advanced) which are part number Sb335 and SB351 but there is no listing for the shackles. I do not want the poly busings. I looked in the LMC book and they list the same bushing for front and rear eyes of the spring which is not correct and then they only list a new shackle which is probably imported and not as heavy as the original. Why is this so hard? |

Re: Rear spring bushings and shackle bushings
I would think you could buy new shackle rubber bushings and not have to pay $20 for new shackle but that seams the way LMC and others are doing it. I am going to press y spring and shackle busings out this weekend and measure them as I believe I need three different sizes. There is a Moog site that I can match up the shackle bushings. $20 is better than $40 (maybe). If anyone has bought new shackles let me know what you bought and if they were as good (same material thickness) as the original ones.
