Battery Guage Question

Even though the seller says part of the top right attachment clip is gone wasn't it made that way? I need new gauges and this might be a possibility but just don't want to buy a gauge that really does have part of the attachment clips knocked off.... Also question......will the 81-87 fuel gauge and speedometer fit a 77 cluster? I think they look a little better...
