it doesn't matter where a part is plated. nickel is nickel, chrome is chrome, copper is copper wherever you buy it. ALL plating is done to a cost model....want a $20.00 bumper and they'll deliver a $20.00 bumper....want to enter your truck in a Riddler competition they'll plate to that standard. Simply put there are grades of quality within all processes. Every look at the factory step bumper on a '94-'01 Dodge Ram? north of North Carolina you can stick your fingers through 90% of them where both the chrome and steel have corroded....bad plater? probably not...they just did what they were asked/paid to do.
