Thank you for noticing> That was one of my main goals was to keep it clean, and simple. Iv tried to follow that theme through the whole truck, chassis, wiring, engine interior and the body. I'm a firm believer in the less is more theory

Re: Silver Dollar

Gonna put the rear bumper on

Theres a good shot of a ground from the frame to the bed.

Inner bracket, Oh! this picture reminds me, to go back and check that I put one of the bed bolts back in.

Shinny new bumper. Trash on the floor. Hey theres my licence plate bulb.

I grabbed a licence plate light from a friend with a few of these trucks lying around. bead blasted it, then painted it with Chrome paint. (Looks just like chrome don't it.) btw i did put in new screws and a lens.

The flash on my camera sure makes all the dust show up real nice.

Nice ass! I should make this my avatar.

Very nice! Did you use a stencil kit for the tail gate letters, or mask them off and shoot them?

Re: Silver Dollar

Final wiring of the dash, mounting the PCM, and the data link connctor

I used L.E.D. for the turns/ hazards, brights, and check engine light.

All lit up, my bright indicator is just that bright

I love military aircraft and thought it would be cool to try and incorporate that some where in the build, so I came up with adding a real air force wings pin, in that dead spot on the dash. I also been thinking about adding a pinup girl or "nose art" on to the glove box.

I made a bracket out of a floor joyce brace from menards and bolted it to the firewall and the other end to the dash. then added industrial grade velcro . The pcm is quite heavy and I figured it wouldn't stay up under hard bumps or rough roads, so I came up with a strap. it holds it up nice and secure. And it will come down very easy if needed.

as you can see, its tucked up there pretty good. and not seen, unless your tring to look under the dash.

same thing with the data link. its under the right side of the dash. like many new trucks and it is not seen unless looking for it.

Re: Silver Dollar

Hey Mike, where did you get your rear bumper from? It looks like it is "bowed" in the center, I had the same problem with one of mine that I got from an online vendor....Nobody noticed mine, but I did and that is what really matters...

Hey! thanks for pointing that out.

I got it from, a swap meet. Really I got it from Southern Kentucky Classics. They ran a ad on my local craigslist saying they were gonna be at the Indy Super Sunday swap meet and anybody could save on shipping. so I gave them a huge list. The Rep brought almost everything I on my list. Not only did I save on shipping on those big items. but I also negotiate the price for everything. I came prepared. I had a list of how much and where the best prices were. I don't think the guy was expecting that. Im sure he still made money. just not as much as he wanted to. I spent about a grand with him, but probably saved $500 getting it that way. It pays to do some homework, and come prepaired.

Back to the bumper. Ill have to check that out better. it might be a illusion.

Dont get me wrong here brother, your truck is coming along fantastic, I just happen to be one of those picky ones, but then again it might just be an illusion like youre saying, funny thing is that mine also looked like the bowed section started from the H and ended on the L, I will try to look for a pic of mine. I migh be wrong though (or had too many buds) but I will double check...(man, those taiwanese are gonna be mad at me)...

I think you are right. I have another pic at a lower angle, and it is the same way. I also went out and looked at it closer, after reading your post and it does appear to be bowed. shh! maybe no one will notice, if we keep it to ourselves.

Re: Silver Dollar

Nice work and I LOVE the gauges. I for some reason am not a fan of the Covan dash but really like how it looks the way you set it up and with the gauges you used and the pin.

obviously, I like the Covans but it depends on the overall concept of the car or truck. color of panel with that car/truck and and of coarse the gauges. I think It all works good together in this truck because of the overall feel of the truck. had the truck been a little more on the stock side I wouldn't have used it. I did a 69 Camaro a few years ago and I made it into a pro touring car. I felt the interior didn't match the exterior. it need a little something. so I added a Covans with Autometer's change the whole feel of the car.

on a side note They are way more exspencive then they should be for a cheap ass piece of plastic. but what are you gonna do. no one else makes anything cool.

Hey man, don't beat up on yourself too bad. These things happen. I see pros break glass every now and then too. Atleast these windshields are cheap. I watched a couple of pro glass guys break 4 windshields on a 55 IH big truck. Man those guys were sick! Keep up the great work. Your gauges and PCM turned out great!
