Sorry guys, not much more to post now, the rest is still in primer.

My new 9" should be here next week along with wheels AR torque thrust II's 17 and 20" and tires. At that time it goes to the bodyshop for paint on the rest of the truck. The bodyshop will finish up the cab and bed as my buddy cuts on the frame at the rear for the new rear suspension.

The hood and fenders were aftermarket fit pretty good, i still need to shim a few spots im not happy with but this is my daily driver so Im not too concerned with it. All of the pieces required bodywork and filler due to imperfections in the sheetmetal and a few dings that were in them. But my old hood was toast and my left fender was creased at the fender lip. The stainless pieces were nice, cheaper than having my old stuff polished.

The paint is PPG 9300 singe stage urethane black so I have no concerns about matching the color it is not mixed at the paint store it comes straight from PPG, I also plan to kandy scallop the front end back into the doors anyway with orange or green. 9300 is a pure black, no black/green or black brown you sometimes see, with no clear it is truly the absence of color because you dont have that layer of clear on top of the black.

The new ididit tilt column with flaming river joints are in and eliminated the rag joint and old style u-joint from GM.

A new 350th is sitting in the garage waiting on the axle so i can do the trans, driveshaft and axle all at one time.

The 9" is custom made from Currie with disc brakes no mounts so i can fab my own. 3.25 gear ratio with a 305-50-20 tire will give me low rpms on the freeway and i converted to 5 lug at the same time.
I think you guys saw this pic, it is when i was measuring for the tires and axle, trying to mock up for a visual.

If our road ever gets paved, Ill consider black. I bet its pretty tough to keep clean. Does black really take in much more heat than other colors ( I heard green was the worst). Looks awesome Glen. What kind of mirrors are those? They look like the stock ones just mounted higher?

The motor is just a crate motor from GM, the mirrors were on the truck when i got it, they are the simple kind that mound on the pinch weld of the door. They will definitely come off before paint.

Black is a pain to maintain, you just have to be willing to wax frequently to keep the swirl marks out.
