rear gear question

opened up my differential cover tonight to see what gears I have...stamping on the gear was 41:11 = 3.73....having never opened a diff. up b4 thought this looked kinda cool.

Take that pic and the shaft in the center 1/8 of the way out and take the top gear and break it in to and add the springs and plates and you have a noise like clump,clank and rattle when the juice hits the pan. I wish mine looked like that right now. Its cool but it stinks. The fluid that is
